Covid-19 PCR Test

General Information about the PCR swab test offered by Canada Home Doctors.

Nucleic acid-based testing is also called PCR, or molecular testing. This test is the gold standard used in Canada and abroad to diagnose active COVID-19 infection in patients.

Results usually take 24 hours, however it may take up to 48 hours, we will communicate with you as soon as the results are available.

This test identifies whether you were infected (positive) with the Covid-19 at the time the test was performed.

For your personal well-being, for cautionary measures, or because you are traveling soon. If you have been in direct contact with an infected person, it is recommended you get tested.

By taking the test at your home/office, you avoid travel time and wait times from the public test clinics. Although public test clinics take significant safety measures, you can be exposed to infected patients which may increase your risk of infection.

This test is considered a diagnostic test and is therefore covered by most group and private insurance policies. Some insurance policies require a referral/prescription to cover, please note that we will provide the referral document.

We currently send our medical staff to the Greater Montreal region, which includes Montreal, South Shore, North Shore, West Island and the East End.

We accept all major credit cards, payment must be made in full at the time of booking.

You will be asked to provide payment information during the booking of your appointment. This allows our administrative team to proceed with the organization of your appointment without any additional delays. 

A doctor visit does not require any prescriptions. It is however required for an appointment of samples collection (required for labwork).

Yes, our services are covered by most insurance companies. We will provide you with the insurance receipts which you can later claim for reimbursement. Please contact your insurance for detailed information.

On average, the visits are done within 24 hours, depending on your availability. Please contact our dispatch department for a precise time.
